Cassidy Wingate studied at the
University of North Carolina School of the Arts as well as the Laura Henry Studio, Mary Irwin Studio, William Esper Studio, Reckless Theatre, The Barrow Group, Movement Theater Studio NYC and privately with Andy Gale, Ben Furey, Elizabeth Pacheco-Rose, and Glenn Siebert.
While at UNCSA, she was in two of the three casts of UNCSA's Cirkus Theatre Project in partnership with Cirque du Soleil.
Her recent work includes playing "BYGONE" in Last Man in the Moon directed by Tony Jenkins and Chessa Metz at Lincoln Center through the Kenan Fellowship, and other performances in association with the Bass Museum of Modern Art, the University Settlement, and The Woolgatherers production group.
In 2020, She has been excited to continue to originate roles for new works by emerging. She finished producing The Grove Fundraiser hosted by Broadway's Isaac Cole Powell in July 2019. In March 2019, she originated the role of "Tara" in Inevitable written by Molly Horan, featured as a part of the Harvest Festival: A Night of Short Plays by Emerging Playwrights. In November 2018, she originated the role of "Donna" in Roller Dynasty written by Ryan Drake and directed by Emma Miller (NYT's Critic Pick 'Athena', The Hearth) through Sprout Works NYC.
Aside from performance, she has co-founded Greenhouse Playwrights Co-op, co-founded Sprout Works NYC inc, and assistant taught mask/movement at NYU Tisch and Suny Purchase.
